Proactive Team officers from Middlesbrough made two arrests in the Grove Hill area yesterday afternoon (Thursday 11th July) and seized an off-road bike.
Around 1:50pm, officers sighted a wanted man on The Vale. He immediately made off upon seeing the officers and they gave chase on foot.
A member of the public then offered his pedal bike to an officer to make chase, leading to the suspect being detained and arrested.
The grateful officers returned the bike to the member of the public with thanks, and the 36-year-old suspect was returned to prison.
Around 4:15pm, officers also spotted an off-road bike on The Vale and managed to detain the man, seizing the bike (pictured).
A 55-year-old man was reported for summons on suspicion of driving offences.
