Five stop searches in one shift yielded three positive results and the day’s work also saw several arrests by Stockton’s Proactive Team.
Officers carried out patrols throughout the area on Saturday and during their shift, acting on information and intelligence about a man who was wanted on prison recall, they attended an address where the 20-year-old was located and promptly arrested!
After booking him into custody and resuming patrols they came across another man (39) who appeared to be involved in a drug deal. He was stop searched and it transpired he too was wanted on a prison recall, so he was arrested.
Later, officers on patrol came across a man and a woman who were believed to have been involved in a theft.
After running the usual checks, it was discovered both were wanted in connection with numerous reports of thefts, so the 35-year-old woman and 44-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of these offences - as well as on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and on suspicion of going equipped to steal.
The last job of the shift involved seeing a male on a scooter in the Billingham area. He was wearing a balaclava and seen to be driving in an erratic manner. The scooter was also on false registration plates.
The male stopped the scooter but made off from officers, jumping over garden fences and hedges. Enquiries to identify and locate him are ongoing however the officers did seize the scooter (pictured).
