A team of detectives swooped on the 23-year-old man not long after he landed back in the United Kingdom in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 13 June).
He was arrested at a property on Campion Grove in Marton, Middlesbrough on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and has been transported to police custody for questioning.
Yesterday morning (Wednesday 12 June) the force’s Dedicated Drugs and County Lines Team executed a warrant at the property on Campion Grove in Marton, Middlesbrough in connection with the investigation.
The activity was conducted as part of Cleveland Police’s Operation Artemis which focused on the Middlesbrough area.
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Tapper said: “We have been gathering information in relation to an individual who is suspected of supplying class A drugs. The warrant executed yesterday led to further evidence being recovered.
“This morning officers knew he would be travelling back to the United Kingdom in the early hours of the morning and we were ready and waiting to detain him.”
