Officers attended Tees Barrage last night (Tuesday 25th June) following reports that a man in his 30s had entered the River Tees and had not resurfaced.
Cleveland Police, along with colleagues from Cleveland Fire Brigade and Tees River Rescue, searched the river last night in an attempt to locate him.
Sadly, a body was located later in the evening.
The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
