Well done to our police cadets, who were shortlisted as finalists for a national award and invited to London.
National Crimebeat, a youth crime prevention charity of the High Sheriff’s Association, shortlisted the police cadets for their work around knife crime reduction and crime prevention.
On Tuesday 19th March, five police cadets headed to London where they gave a presentation to a panel and in front of their peers.
The cadets were awarded a Highly Commended certificate for their work.
Whilst in London, the cadets had the opportunity to take an open top bus tour and were given a VIP pod on the London Eye to see the sights of the capital, aswell as meeting the Diplomatic Protection Group from the Met Police and they posed for a picture outside 10 Downing Street!
Citizens in Policing Co-Ordinator Kenny Clark said: “We are delighted that the cadets have been recognised nationally for their work around knife crime reduction and crime prevention. It’s really good for them to see that their hard work and dedication has been recognised at a national level and the cadets really enjoyed their chance to go to London to receive their awards.”
