A closure order for a problem property in Redcar has been extended following an application made by Cleveland Police with the assistance of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
The property on Lawrence Street, Redcar, was previously issued with a three-month closure order back in January but following a hearing on Wednesday 27th March it has been ordered to close for another three months.
Officers from Redcar and Cleveland’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) worked closely with council officers on the application following intelligence from the community about anti-social behaviour.
The order means the tenant must not enter the property and it will be inaccessible to anyone for three months.
NPT Inspector Neil Deluce said: “We hope by securing an extension of the closure order that residents feel confident to keep reporting issues to us.
“We will continue to work closely with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to take action and improve the lives of residents across the borough.
“Please keep the reports coming into us as it builds up a bigger picture for action to be taken. You can contact us on 101 with any issues or concerns you have."
