The 32-year-old, of Warren Road, was arrested on Tuesday 12 March and subsequently charged with two counts of burglary.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday 14 March.
The charges relate to two burglaries that both occurred at Marina Pizza on Harbour Walk on Sunday 3 March and Wednesday 6 March.
