A teenager who was stop searched by Proactive Team officers patrolling Valley Road Middlesbrough last night was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place after a lock knife was recovered.
A further search revealed a quantify of cannabis, cash and a phone which were all recovered by police.
The 18-year-old was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (cannabis) and he was interviewed then bailed to allow further enquiries to take place.
Our officers will continue to use appropriate stop search powers which can help remove potentially lethal weapons from the street, as well as tackle crime, nuisance and disorder.
