At approximately 3.15pm on Saturday 30 March officers attended to a property on Appletree Gardens in Ormesby in connection with two young men riding quad bikes.
On arrival, a man at the property assaulted two police officers and further assistance was required at the scene.
The police dog was deployed and the 52-year-old man was bitten on the arm.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.
