Police in Middlesbrough have today seized an Akita-type dog and arrested a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control.
This comes after police were called to an address on Mayfair Avenue at around 8pm last night, Monday 13th May.
A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his arm and he is still receiving treatment in James Cook University Hospital.
The dog was seized and is currently in a secure police facility whilst the woman is questioned and other enquiries continue.
