Five people were issued with notices and one man was arrested after a dispersal order was implemented in Redcar town centre.
A 48-hour dispersal order was issued on Redcar High Street and the surrounding area starting at 8.30am on Wednesday 29th May and running until 8.30am on Friday 31st May.
Whilst officers from Redcar’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were conducting foot patrols yesterday, they arrested a man for breaching a dispersal order.
The 34-year-old man was charged and bailed to attend court next month.
Officers also issued five people with dispersal notices for a period of 48 hours.
A dispersal order gives officers the powers to ask people to leave the area for the specified time period. If they return, they could be arrested for breaching the order.
