Man charged with begging and drug offences, Redcar.

Officers in Redcar are reassuring the community that they will continue to deal with ongoing reports of aggressive begging in the town.

A dispersal order was in place recently and increased patrols have been taking place in affected areas.

Last night (Saturday 25^th May) a 34-year-old man was arrested near Tesco on West Dyke Road.

He has now been charged with begging in a public place and with possession of a Class A drug.

The man was bailed and is due to attend Teesside Magistrates’ Court in June.
