Officers in Redcar are reassuring the community that they will continue to deal with ongoing reports of aggressive begging in the town.
A dispersal order was in place recently and increased patrols have been taking place in affected areas.
Last night (Saturday 25th May) a 34-year-old man was arrested near Tesco on West Dyke Road.
He has now been charged with begging in a public place and with possession of a Class A drug.
The man was bailed and is due to attend Teesside Magistrates’ Court in June.
Any issues can be reported to Cleveland Police at any time via the 101 number or online on the force website.
