A man’s appeared at court after an incident involving a stolen bread delivery van last week.
Police were notified shortly after 8am on Saturday that a white Iveco box van had been taken from outside Sainsbury’s in Dormanstown, and it’s alleged it was then driven around the wider Redcar area with the back doors open until it was stopped by Matrix team officers.
The driver was reported to have decamped however he was arrested after a brief area search.
The 24-year-old was interviewed and subsequently charged with theft of motor vehicle and with driving with no insurance.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday 6th May).
