At around 4.50pm on Thursday 30 May a man is believed to have got out of a van and grabbed a 31-year-old man by the throat and pinned him to the floor. Two other males who were riding pedal bikes then emptied the victims pockets and stole money.
The trio then travelled away from the area in the direction of Hartington Road and Dovecote Street.
The robbery took place on Russell Street.
An investigation has been progressing and as part of officers enquiries they are appealing to members of the public for information and CCTV footage.
A 46-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Inspector Sarah Beadle, from Stockton Police CID, said: “Since the robbery was reported, we have been piecing together what has taken place to help identify those responsible.
“As part of our investigation, I am appealing to residents in the area and in Hartington Road and Dovecote Street who have CCTV to check their footage and contact us if it could assist. I also want to appeal to members of the public who may have witnessed the robbery take place to please come forward.
“Any information you have – no matter how small – could really help.”
