A man and woman have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into a fire at a property on Rugby Street, Hartlepool, on Wednesday evening (29th May).
The incident happened around 9:45pm at an empty property. No one was injured.
Officers believe that the fire was deliberate and a 38-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
Both remain in police custody at this time whilst enquiries continue.
