Stockton’s Proactive Team had a busy Bank Holiday weekend patrolling crime hotspots and conducting stop searches and vehicle checks.
On the evening of Sunday 26th May, acting on local knowledge and intelligence, officers attended an address on Trinity Street, Stockton.
After forcing entry into an address, officers located a 34-year-old woman who was later identified as being wanted in connection with a theft.
She was arrested and later charged with this offence. The woman was bailed with conditions to appear at court next month.
A 17-year-old male reportedly attempted to evade officers but he too was arrested. Officers also seized cash and a quantity of drugs, believed to be Class A.
He was arrested and later charged with aggravated burglary and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He was remanded in custody to appear at court today (Tuesday 28th May).
Sergeant Darren Williamson said: “Bank Holiday weekends are busy periods for emergency services. Officers and our colleagues in the fire service were particularly busy due to localised incidents of flooding.
“The Proactive Team will continue to arrest outstanding suspects and disrupt the circulation of illicit drugs within the local community while reducing the violence and anti-social behaviour associated with such criminality.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
