The unit has conducted plain clothed patrols, supported colleagues on dedicated operations and arrested several wanted people.
The arrests include two so-called district targets – one man, 26, was charged and remanded to court for theft, and another aged 18 who was wanted for several offences including robbery.
Two women, 35 and 41, who were wanted on suspicion of domestic abuse incidents were also charged.
The Proactive Team also assisted colleagues in Middlesbrough arresting another man, aged 18, following enquiries into a violent offence during which a crossbow and a samurai sword were recovered in Hemlington.
And based on intelligence from the public, officers attended an address in South Bank and recovered Class A and B drugs.
A 17 year old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and on suspicion of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine (a Class A drug) He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Shah Ahmed said: “These results show the sheer scope and pace of the work being done by the Redcar & Cleveland Proactive Team.
“Much of this success wouldn’t be possible without the support of our communities and the information they have passed to police. I’d like to thank them for their help.
“If anyone else has information please get in touch; it will be added to police intelligence so we can plan appropriate, targeted and effective action which actively pursues criminals.”
