Eagle-eyed officers from Greater Eston’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) recovered two stolen vehicles within an hour of each other thanks to information from the public.
Following reports of a burglary whereby the keys of a motorhome were stolen from a house in Lazenby, officers attended an open area behind Langdale Crescent in Grangetown.
There, the stolen motorhome was spotted and recovered by officers so it can be returned to its owner.
Soon after, a vigilant member of the community reported seeing men acting suspiciously on a building site in Guisborough and a telehandler leaving the site outside of normal working hours.
NPT officers, with the assistance of the Matrix Team, flooded the area to look for the vehicle.
Within 45 minutes, the vehicle was located in a rural area just outside of Guisborough where it was forensically examined and returned to its owner.
Officers are continuing to make enquiries in relation to both incidents to identify those responsible.
Acting Inspector Rory Sadler from Greater Eston NPT said: “Our officers acted quickly to recover both of these vehicles and return them to their rightful owners.
“Information from the public remains vital so please keep reporting incidents and suspicious activity to us on 101 or via our website here: Report a crime | Cleveland Police.”
