A Hartlepool Police Inspector is reminding parents to be mindful of where their children are and what they are up to ahead of the weekend.
The warning comes after a group of Hartlepool teenagers were issued with AS13 Notices following reports of antisocial behaviour from businesses in the Marina area of the town last weekend.
Six teens aged 14 and 15 were issued with the antisocial behaviour notices which identify each of them as having been involved in behaviour and activity which can cause alarm or distress to members of the public. Once a notice has been issued further action may be taken against their parents if the young people do not heed the warning.
Inspector Adrian Dack of Hartlepool Neighourhoods said: "I would urge parents and carers to ensure that they are aware of what their children are doing and where they are.
“Whilst I understand that youngsters want to socialise, they can do this without causing problems for other members of the public and business owners in the area. I would remind them to think carefully about how their behaviour may affect others and ask them to be more considerate.
“If children are be found to be involved in this kind of behaviour, we will ensure that parents and schools are informed which could lead to further consequences.”
