Hartlepool PCSO, Steve Widdowfield, has recently completed modules 1 – 3 of the National Wildlife Crime Unit in Wildlife Crime Investigations course, and will be the main investigator of wildlife crime in the town on behalf of the UK National Wildlife Crime Unit.
These investigations can include crimes against badgers, bats, birds of prey, freshwater pearl mussels, poaching and cyber enabled wildlife crime.
PCSO Widdowfield said: “I am really proud to have completed this course and to take on this responsibility on behalf of the UK National Wildlife Crime Unit. It’s important that we protect the wildlife in the town, and that any suspicious activity is reported to us.”
