Two Arrested after Weapons and Suspected Drugs Recovered

Police have arrested two males after they recovered suspected drugs and weapons in Middlesbrough.

Around 2pm on Thursday 7^th November, officers from Middlesbrough Proactive Team carrying out patrols on Cargo Fleet Lane witnessed suspicious activity and stopped to search a boy on a pedal bike. Suspected cannabis and an amount of cash were found.

Whilst officers carried out enquiries around the incident, a 45-year-old man was also searched and was found with suspected class A drugs. He was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession of class A drugs.

A subsequent search of a property resulted in the recovery of an off-road bike, air weapons, crossbows and knives.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of an off-road bike, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of criminal property.

Both males have been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
