Around 12:45am this morning, Saturday 19th October, police received a call after a property was damaged on Runswick Avenue in Stockton.
The damage is believed to have been caused by a firearm being discharged.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
A man aged 33 has been arrested on suspicion of firearms related offences. He currently remains in police custody whilst enquiries are continuing.
Officers don’t believe there is any threat to the wider public at this time and additional patrols will be carried out in the area by neighbourhood team officers to help reassure the local community.
Anyone who may have information or anyone who may have witnessed a male on a motorbike in the vicinity of Runswick Avenue around 12:45am is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 200200.
