Ten pupils from @StAlphonsusCatholicPrimarySchool will know what that means as they’ve recently learned the phonetic alphabet as part of their Mini Police training!
Over the last six weeks the youngsters have also learned all about Cleveland Police and subjects like antisocial behaviour, met their local officers and had a good look around the inside of a police van too.
At a ceremony last week to mark the completion of their training, the youngsters delivered a presentation on ASB to the school and their parents, before receiving certificates and gifts from Superintendent Deb Fenny and Chief Inspector Jon Tapper.
School Liaison Officer Geoff Illingworth who runs the force’s Mini Police programme (currently running across 17 local primary schools) said: “The pupils told me they loved the training and have learned a lot about the police.
“They’ve all done so well and are a credit to their school – our congratulations to each and every one of them!”
