Around 5:50pm on Monday 14th October, an off-duty officer reported suspicious activity ongoing in the car park at Tesco in Eaglescliffe.
PC India Landers responded to the call with police dog Rheagar, and two males were located; one was found to be in possession of a lock knife and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both males, aged 16 and 17, were later arrested in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle in the Eaglescliffe area on Sunday 13th October whereby a Seat Ibiza was reported stolen.
