Proactive Team officers in Middlesbrough have recovered cannabis worth up to £100,000 at a farm in the Newport area.
On Saturday 28th September, officers attended Wicklow Street where they were dealing with another matter when they detected a strong smell of cannabis and identified an address.
Officers went in and found a room of young plants, before enquiries led them to next door where there was a larger cannabis farm with harvested cannabis which had been prepared for sale.
The electricity supply in both properties had to be made safe as it had been tampered with.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference number 186516.
Independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
