Appeal after Man and Woman Injured in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage after a man and woman suffered a stab wound in Hartlepool.

Ambulance service colleagues contacted police around 9:20pm on Wednesday 4^th September, when a 30-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his abdomen on Stephen Street and was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A short time later, around 9:40pm, officers attended a report that a 36-year-old woman had also suffered a minor stabbing injury to her leg at a property on Sheriff Street. She was not taken to hospital.

The incidents are being linked and the victims are believed to have known the suspect.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with both incidents and he currently remains in police custody.
