Officers were called to Sainsbury’s on Saltersgill Avenue in Middlesbrough at around 8.30pm on Thursday 19 September following reports that a man had been stabbed.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his arm, leg and back. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police would like to reassure the public that extensive enquiries, including CCTV, are currently under way and officers will remain visible in the area.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 181116.
