The 23-year-old local man was charged and released on bail.
He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Friday 27 September.
The charge relates to a man suspected of shouting abuse at police before attacking a residential property with a plank of wood and striking the window numerous times. He is also believed to have handed a child a rock which is thrown at police.
The disorder occurred on Wednesday 31 July.
