The 38-year-old man, of Donnington Green, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery, theft from a vehicle and possession of a class B drug.
He was subsequently charged with the offences and remanded in custody where he appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court.
The charges relate to the report of a robbery at around 8.35am on Tuesday 13 August at Middlebeck social club on Homerton Road and car windows damaged with items stolen at around 5am on Tuesday 13 August.
