We’re investigating an incident of criminal damage whereby trees at Summerhill in Hartlepool were set on fire overnight - between 5pm yesterday and 8am today (Tuesday 29th April).
The trees had actually been felled by staff to create habitats for wildlife and it’s estimated repair/replacement will cost thousands of pounds.
We would ask anyone with information on who may be responsible to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 075407.
If you don’t want to speak to police you can speak anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
