Two men were arrested and cash, phones and a quantity of suspected heroin (a Class A drug) seized after a vehicle stop by Middlesbrough’s Proactive Team officers yesterday (Saturday 3rd May.)
Police had received reports from the public - as well as from Middlesbrough Borough Council’s neighbourhood officers - about a blue VW Golf which was suspected of being used in drug dealing.
Our officers stopped the car on Southfield Road at 4pm and following searches, the 30-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin) and on suspicion of drug driving.
His 52-year-old male passenger was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin).
Both men were interviewed then bailed while enquiries continue.
