An 18-year-old was remanded to prison yesterday after he appeared at court charged with several counts of assault.
Officers had been called to Stainton Street, North Ormesby shortly before 8pm on Thursday night (1st May) to a report of an ongoing altercation.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman, and on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers; an officer sustained a facial injury as they were reportedly struck by the man and another suffered an arm injury, allegedly through a bite. One of these officers also reported having a large chunk of hair pulled out.
The teenager then allegedly assaulted a third officer while in custody.
