A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a delivery driver reported being robbed in Middlesbrough on Wednesday 26th February.
The incident happened around 10:30pm on Mill Street when a 64-year-old man reported the theft of his van, which was taken after two males had hit him over the head with a baseball bat as he got out of his van to deliver some food.
The man was checked over at James Cook University Hospital.
After the stolen van was spotted on Riverside Road Industrial Estate around 2:20am this morning, an area search was carried out and officers arrested a 14-year-old male nearby on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody at this time.
Enquiries are continuing and any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting reference number 034276.
