The 19-year-old man, of Caspian Close in Thornaby, was arrested on Norton Avenue on Monday 24 February.
After being taken to custody for questioning, the teenager was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and concerned in the supply of class B.
He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Tuesday 25 February.
The charges relate to officers from Stockton’s neighbourhood policing team on patrol in Norton when a pursuit began on foot to detain a man. Approximately £1,000 of cocaine was discarded and subsequently seized by police.
