The Section 60 order will continue until 6.30pm on Saturday 1 March.
It has been put in place to help prevent violence and anti-social behaviour.
In the next 24-hours, officers will have enhanced powers to stop and search individuals within the Tilery area highlighted on the map.
Acting Inspector Chris Williams said: “Our officers will be highly visible in the area to provide reassurance in the community and to deter anyone from committing violence or crime.
“We will continue to use all our powers to ensure public safety. Please report any criminality to us by calling 101 or you can report non-emergencies through our website.”
Information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously online or by calling 0800 555 111.
