A man has been arrested and charged after Proactive Team officers in Middlesbrough reportedly witnessed a man carrying out suspected drugs activity.
The incident happened around 4:40pm on Wednesday 5th February as the officers were on patrol in Laycock Park.
Three officers were assaulted during the arrest.
116 deals of suspected crack cocaine were seized during a search of the man, and around £750 in cash. A subsequent search of an address led officers to recover a machete and drug paraphernalia.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of criminal property and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker. The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Thursday 6th February.
