Weapons and suspected drugs were seized by Matrix officers during two roadside stops in the Grangetown and Middlesbrough areas.
In the early hours of Wednesday 25th February, officers stopped a Vauxhall Corsa on Birchington Avenue.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, failed a roadside drugs test and was found to not to have a valid driving licence. He was arrested and taken into custody.
A passenger, an 18-year-old man, was reportedly found in possession of suspected class A drugs and a Rambo-style knife. He was arrested and has now been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Thursday 27th February).
A second stop of a BMW on Linthorpe Road in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 27th February, also led to the discovery of a large amount of suspected class A drugs and two large knives. The driver failed a roadside drugs test and the vehicle was uninsured.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody.
