Police are appealing for information after a school girl was seriously injured in a collision with an electric bike on Maxwell Road in Hartlepool yesterday afternoon.
The 13-year-old girl was walking home from school at 2.45pm on Wednesday 22nd January, and was crossing Maxwell Road in the Owton Manor area of the town when the incident happened.
She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where she is currently being treated for a suspected fractured skull and bleeding.
The 16-year-old rider of the bike was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.
