Detectives from Middlesbrough CID are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was injured at an address on Cottingham Drive in Pallister Park.
Ambulance service colleagues alerted police to the man, who had suffered serious slash injures to his face and back, around 5:15pm on Sunday 19th January.
A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers believe that two males attended the address on mountain bikes wearing dark clothing and entered the address with a bladed weapon.
Enquiries are continuing to identify those involved and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information or private CCTV in the area, is asked to contact Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting reference number 010707.
