Earlier this week we provided an update on the enforcement work against nuisance, illegal or defective vehicles which Greater Eston NPTs have been doing recently.
We’d also like to tell you about some of their engagement work, where officers have been privileged to visit, speak to and interact with all sections of the local community.
On Thursday (16th January) two separate engagement events took place: one in Bankfields where along with local Councillors, NPTs attended the Eston Neighbourhood Action Partnership meeting where residents were able to ask questions of both police and elected members.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media for future dates of these meetings.
The second was at Moordale Court in Eston where PCSO Croft gave a presentation to residents on what police and partners are doing to tackle illegal off-road bikes. Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
The next day, along with school liaison colleague PCSO Illingworth, NPT officers attended week 2 of the Mini Police programme at Caedmon Primary School in Grangetown.
They told the children all about being a police officer and the youngsters enjoyed looking around the police vehicle – and having a go of the blue lights and sirens! A big thank you to the school and its wonderful pupils and staff for making them so welcome!
Greater Eston NPT Sergeant Rory Sadler said: “Engagement with our communities, young and older, is a vital piece of our work and it’s always a pleasure to meet residents, listen to their concerns and tell them about all the work we’re doing to address them.
“We worked around our usual police duties which included attending multiple emergency incidents like RTCs and urgent concerns for safety as well as our neighbourhood policing appointments.
“Behind the scenes we’ve also been busy continuing enquiries to do with ongoing investigations as well as making domestic violence protection order (DVPO visits) to make sure recipients are keeping to conditions placed upon then, making arrest attempts for outstanding suspects and gathering intelligence for all manner of criminality.
“Officers have also been preparing case files for our colleagues at the CPS and the court, engaging with young people to divert them from ASB, and of course working in partnership with the local authority and other organisations.”
