Four of the five most wanted shoplifters arrested in Hartlepool this weekend

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to tackle the issue of shoplifting in the town, arresting four out of the five most wanted shoplifting suspects in Hartlepool this weekend (Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January).

• A 40-year-old man was charged with five thefts from stores across Hartlepool between 17^th December 2024 and 1^st January this year. He was recalled to prison.
• A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with two thefts from Sainsbury’s in Murray Street between 23^rd and 27^th December 2024.
• A 31-year-old woman was arrested and charged with four thefts from stores across Hartlepool between 29^th November 2024 and 7^th January this year.
• A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged for four thefts from stores across Hartlepool between 3^rd and 11^th March this year.

They appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Monday 13^th January.

Hartlepool District Commander Superintendent Alan O’Donoghue said: “This demonstrates some of the fantastic work carried out by our Neighbourhood Policing Teams in our continued commitment to support local retailers.

“We will continue to tackle criminals who chose to commit crime within the town, and robustly deal with any threats of violence towards shop workers.”
