A 17-year-old boy was treated for a stab wound after an incident at an address on Fonteyn Court in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, around 7:10pm on Monday 6th January.
Officers received a call from ambulance service colleagues and the boy was treated at James Cook University hospital for a non-life threatening injury and later released.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and he remains in police custody at this time.
Enquiries are continuing.
