Stockton’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have taken almost £70,000 worth of drugs off the streets over the last few weeks as they continue to disrupt criminality across the town.
Through regular patrols and proactive vehicle stops, the team has seized Class A, B and C drugs, as well as offensive weapons and criminal property.
On Monday (27th January), NPT officers located £4,000 after stopping a suspicious vehicle on Rostrevor Avenue.
A further search of an address resulted in officers seizing around £3,000 worth of suspected cocaine, more money and offensive weapons. Two people, aged 30 and 29, were charged in connection with the incident.
Last weekend, NPT officers assisted by Stockton’s Proactive Team stopped and searched a vehicle on Bishopton Lane where officers discovered a quantity of drugs.
Further drugs, believed to be worth around £6,000, cash and offensive weapons were seized following the search of an address.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and he was bailed pending further enquiries.
The 18-year-old male passenger was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A, B and C drugs, possession of criminal property and possession of an offensive weapon. He was bailed pending further enquiries.
A third man, aged 32, was also arrested and charged with possession of Class A and C drugs. He was bailed to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court next month.
Last week on Wednesday 22nd January, NPT officers arrested a man and woman after 2kg of Class B drugs being seized to the value of around £20,000.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of improper important of drugs and possession of criminal property. They were both bailed pending further enquiries.
And earlier this month on January 4th, NPT officers again stopped a vehicle on Piper Knowle Road in Hardwick due to the driver being wanted on warrant.
A search of an address resulted in officers seized £40,000 worth of Class A drugs, believed to be heroin.
The 49-year-old driver was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a Class A drug. He was later charged and remanded into custody.
