A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with an incident on Sunday 1st June where three German Shepherds escaped a property on Sheriff Street in Hartlepool.
Four members of the public were bitten by the dogs during the incident, with a 22-year-old woman sustaining a bite wound to her thigh and a 35-year-old man who suffered a bite wound to his calf. A 35-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were treated by paramedics at the scene for less serious injuries.
The dogs were seized by police following the incident and temporarily re-homed whilst the investigation continues.
The man was taken to police custody for questioning and released on bail pending further enquiries.
