Popular Hartlepool Neighbourhoods officer PC Geoff Coggin was a winner at the 2025 Hartlepool Heroes Awards on Friday (13th June).
PC Coggin attended the awards ceremony at The Borough Hall, on The Headland in Hartlepool, on Friday evening where he was thrilled to be awarded Emergency Services Champion.
The awards are organised by The PFC Trust to celebrate the incredible people in the town who make a real difference to the lives of Hartlepool’s communities.
Hartlepool District Commander Superintendent Alan O’Donoghue said: “I couldn’t be more proud of PC Geoff Coggin for receiving this well-deserved award, although I can’t say I’m surprised. ‘Coggy’ consistently goes above and beyond in uniting Hartlepool’s communities, always approaching his work with sincerity, compassion and a genuine interest in the people he serves.
“His dedication to engaging with young people is especially inspiring. From primary schools to colleges, he’s built strong, trusting relationships with students across the town. Through his educational work on antisocial behaviour, violence, and knife crime, he’s helping to steer young lives away from harm and towards brighter futures.
“His involvement with local youth centres and community groups is equally impactful, bridging the gap between young people and the police, and fostering mutual respect and understanding.
“Congratulations Coggy, and thank you for everything you do for Hartlepool. Your work is changing lives and our town is better for it."
