Officers were on mobile patrol in Redcar late on the evening of Monday 2nd June when they spotted an Audi A3 being driven at high speed through an alleyway.
They found the vehicle shortly afterwards and discovered its number plates had been ripped off, however checks revealed it had been stolen from the Northumbria Police force area two days before and enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver.

A few days later on Saturday 7th June the team saw an off-road bike being ridden on the busy High Street at Redcar.
The male rider was wearing a black balaclava, and he was detained after going onto the footpath.
He was dealt with at the roadside for traffic offences and the bike was later identified as an outstanding stolen vehicle from the Durham area, having been driven around by numerous people region-wide since August 2024!
The rightful owner of the motorbike has been informed and enquiries into its theft are ongoing. If you have information, please contact us on 101 quoting ref 103422.
And this Tuesday, 10th June, officers were again on mobile patrol in Redcar when they saw a man who ran off when he saw police.
