A man has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison after being found with class A drugs and cash at a property in Middlesbrough.
On 18th January 2025, Middlesbrough Proactive Team officers attended an address on Farndale Court in relation to another matter when they located 57-year-old Sunil Kumar Debnath, of Farndale Court, with heroin and crack cocaine hidden under a mattress. Around £295 in cash was also found hidden.

Debnath was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and on Wednesday 5th March he was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison at Teesside Crown Court.
PC James Aldcoin, from Middlesbrough Proactive Team, said: “This is another example of police ridding the streets of Middlesbrough of class A drugs and those who peddle them and make others lives a misery.
“It won’t be tolerated and we are out there, day after day, looking to remove drug dealers from our communities and bring them to justice.”
Anyone who may have information regarding drugs activity in their local neighbourhood, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
