A 17-year-old is now in a young offenders’ institution after he was convicted of theft of a vehicle and other offences.
This follows an investigation by Redcar CID into a two in one burglary in the town on 19th April where a Mercedes was reported stolen.
The boy was also charged with three attempted burglaries.
He attended Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday this week (7th May) where he was disqualified from driving for 12 months and was given an eight-month detention and training order.
He was also required to pay the vehicle owner compensation of over £700.
