CCTV Images Released Following Robbery in Hartlepool

Police are releasing CCTV images of three men who may be able to assist with enquiries in a robbery investigation.

The robbery took place at around 12:30pm on Thursday 17th December when a 65-year-old woman went to Yorkshire Bank on York Road in Hartlepool to withdraw cash.

As she left the bank, she was followed by three men. They followed her around the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre and approached her as she sat down in BHS to try on a pair of shoes, placing her handbag next to her.

One of the males approached the victim and spoke to her and in the meantime, another of the men dipped into her handbag and stole cash. The three men then walked out of the store.

The first male is described as slim build, with short cropped hair with an Eastern European appearance and a foreign accent. He was wearing a cream padded jacket with blue jeans.

The second male is described as being of stocky build, with short cropped black hair with a widow’s peak and he was also of Eastern European appearance with a foreign accent. He was wearing a black coat, cream scarf and light blue jeans and black shoes.

The third male was of medium build with short, cropped, receding black hair and of Eastern European appearance with a foreign accent. He was wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
