27-Year-Old Women Assaulted in an Attempted Robbery in Billingham

Police are appealing for information after a 27-year-old woman was assaulted in an attempted robbery.

The incident happed on Tuesday 5th January at 9:50pm when the victim was at the ATM machine at the shopping precinct on Low Grange Avenue at the junction with Flodden Way in Billingham.

The victim was approached by a man at the cash machine who grabbed her by the throat and demanded money from her.

The victim told the man she had no money and he then he made off in an unknown direction.

The man is described as 5 ft 6” tall and of slim build and he was wearing a black Nike hooded top, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.
